Crested Butte Open Artwork

When I was visiting Crested Butte a few weeks ago, a lot of the local shops downtown had posters for The Crested Butte Open hanging in their windows. The poster (below) kind of stuck with me as I wandered throughout town…. I liked the piece itself, but really liked the imagery of the disabled peeps mountain biking, awesome.

I meant to see about buying a copy of the poster to frame on my last day, but ended up getting busy and never got the poster….. fast forward to now and I googled it and learned a little more about it.

From the Adaptive Sports Website:

Greg Burns was born with Arthrogryposis, a muscle and joint disease which affects the use of his arms and legs. He is an award-winning artist who draws cradling a pen in his hand and watercolors holding a brush in his teeth.

All I can say is wow, I’m impressed by the piece on its own, but even moreso considering Greg’s physical challenges…. In any case, it’s a great piece, I’m inpsired by the piece and artist. You can find Greg and his art here.

Had a blast hanging with Yahoo SEO Manager Tony Adam ( @tonyadam ) and Dustin Luther ( @tyr ) of 4Realz and RainCityGuide.
